Museum of Marathon

The Marathon Museum offers families the opportunity to see findings from prehistoric times to the Roman period.  

  • Through the Museum's permanent exhibition, visitors learn about the history of the region, from prehistoric times to the Roman period.
  • The Museum's findings come from excavations in the wider Marathon area.
  • The museum is generally accessible to visitors of all ages and is equipped to accommodate people with disabilities.
  • For families visiting the Marathon Museum, combining the trip with a visit to the nearby archaeological site of the Battle of Marathon and the Marathon Tomb can provide a comprehensive historical and cultural experience.
