The Benaki Museum consists of different departments and buildings.
One of them is the "Museum of Toys" which presents toys, books, publications, clothes and childhood objects from all over the world. It is located at 14 Poseidonos Avenue and Tritonos Avenue, 175 61, Paleo Faliro.
Throughout the year, the Museum implements creative activities for children and their families in its permanent collections and in the Foundation's selected temporary exhibitions.
For the summer - from 27/6 to 8/7 - the Benaki Museum offers a variety of activities for the city's children (aged 6 to 9 years old) in the National Garden.
The weekly programme consists of
walks in the Museum's halls and on the paths of the neighbouring National Garden and vice versa.
These activities take children on a journey through Greek culture, from antiquity to the present day, with a creative combination of Art and the natural environment. The experiences gained by the participants promote their artistic and personal expression.
Also, during this period and until September 2022, the Museum is running 3 educational programmes with titles:
- Seeing with the senses
- Drawing and Painting Workshop
- A Time for Museum.
The 1st programme is aimed at children and adults with visual impairments, the 2nd is aimed at pupils and students and the 3rd is for people with memory difficulties.
